Opening it the first time

The alpha builds aren't signed yet, so each system will want a word with you once. After that they start like anything else.

macOS

Unzip, then right-click the app and choose Open. A plain double-click gets refused by Gatekeeper.

Windows

Unzip, run terra-game.exe. SmartScreen shows a warning: More info → Run anyway.

Linux

Unpack the tar.gz and run ./terra.sh. Needs a 64-bit distro with a working GPU driver.

Updates

The game checks this page's version when it starts and tells you in the menu when there is a newer one. While an update is pending, multiplayer stays closed — the rules of the world can change between builds, and an out-of-date client would quietly disagree with the server. Single player keeps working.
